Speaking in an interview with Jeff Omolewa TV, she narrated how one of her film projects became overwhelming, especially after facing unexpected behaviour from a colleague on set.
According to her, she had already paid an actor N80,000 for a role, but things took a different turn after he discovered she had also worked with Odunlade Adekola on the same production.
She explained that the actor’s attitude changed suddenly, and he began demanding the remaining balance before continuing filming. The situation escalated until he left the set abruptly, forcing her to run after his car while pleading with him to return.
“It affected me emotionally. I won’t forget it because it built me and made me stronger as a producer,” she said.
Habibat added that the next day, she arrived on set feeling down, and Odunlade Adekola noticed her mood and asked what was wrong.
After she explained her financial struggles, she said the veteran actor immediately supported her by giving her N20,000 without hesitation or conditions.
“I begged Odunlade to accept N130,000 from me to star in my movie. He accepted it, and when we got to the location, we acted out a scene, and he left,” she recounted.
She added, “Another actor, when he came on set and heard that I had done a scene with Odunlade, changed his behaviour towards me. Someone I had already paid N80,000 changed his behaviour and started asking for his balance before he could shoot another scene. The actor drove off, and I had to pursue his car while pleading with him. I can’t forget it.”
She concluded by appreciating Odunlade’s gesture, saying, “Brother Odun, God bless you. If I remember what I did, my heart prays for him.”
