Over a month after he called out Mavin songstress, Tiwa Savage, for lifting lyrics from his song without giving him credit, and also profiting from his intellectual property thereof, Danny Young has decided to take the matter to court.
The one-time rave of the moment revealed that much in a post on his Instagram page as the matter begins to get more traction online.
In the new post announcing his latest move, Danny Young revealed that he has engaged the services of one Justin Ige in the court case after reaching out to Tiwa Savage over the matter without a reply.
He wrote; “Me no dey worry Me and my guys kuku dey enjoy our seafood dey go as we don engage the one and only Justin Ige of Creative Legal for legal representation on the matter. Say no to copy copy! #case loading.
Recall that the singer in January got YouTube to bring Tiwa Savage’s song titled ‘One’ down from the platform after a third party complaint leveled by him.
The singer revealed that he took the action after reaching out to Tiwa Savage telling her that she lifted lyrics from his song without giving him credit.
Recall also that Danny Young had in November 2018 called out Tiwa Savage saying she lifted vital parts of his song titled ‘Oju Ti Ti Won’ on her track ‘One’ which she went ahead to release officially in December last year.
Danny is suing Tiwa, her record label Mavin for N200m for ‘daring’ to use a line from his Oju Ti Ti Won hit single, claiming that amount will be fine for damages.
The lawsuit (Suit No: FHC/L/CS/230/2019) was filed at the Federal High Court, Lagos. Like we said, it was on the 13th day of February, 2019.
