Air Strike Targets Syrian Hospital, Several Killed

Air strikes on a hospital in the Syrian city of Aleppo on Thursday, April 28, have killed at least 20, including three children.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the city’s last paediatrician and two other doctors were among the victims.

The Observatory said 84 civilians have been killed by government air strikes in the last six days, and 49 others killed in rebel shelling of government-held areas.

The United Nations in response to the situation, said a Feb. 27 cease fire agreement is “barely alive” since fighting escalated on April 22.

The Civil Defence rescue service, in a statement on its Facebook page, put the death toll from today’s air strike at 30.

Recent casualties are examples of several human rights violations the Syrian government, ISIL and other opposition forces have been accused of by human rights groups.

Tens of thousands of Syrian have been displaced by the civil war since it began in March 2011.
