The announcement was made on Monday via the board’s official X handle during its ongoing 2026 policy meeting on admissions.
According to the statement, “Candidates seeking admissions into Education Programmes and Agriculture non-Engineering Courses are now exempted from UTME.”
The latest development follows the federal government’s earlier decision to remove UTME as a requirement for admission into Colleges of Education, particularly for candidates pursuing the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).Nigerian News Aggregator
With the new policy, aspiring students in these fields will now gain admission through alternative screening processes instead of the traditional UTME route, marking a shift in the country’s tertiary admission structure.
