In Forbes’ latest ranking, the “King of Pop” claimed the top spot with an estimated income of $105 million in the past year — far ahead of any other late star.
A significant portion of Jackson’s recent revenue stemmed from Sony Music’s $600 million acquisition of a 50% stake in his master recordings and publishing catalog in 2024.
Musicians continued to dominate the rankings, occupying ten of the top thirteen positions. Icons such as Prince, John Lennon, and Bob Marley were among those featured, with the collective earnings of the group hitting $541 million over the past year.
Since his passing in 2009, Jackson’s estate has amassed an astonishing $3.5 billion, solidifying his status as the most financially successful celebrity beyond the grave.
