According to Vanguard The Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and 22 other lawmakers also submitted their resignation letters from the opposition party.
Governor Diri’s departure from the PDP follows closely on the heels of his Enugu State counterpart, Peter Mbah, who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) just 24 hours earlier.
As of the time of reporting, Governor Diri has not announced his next political move.
