US Open: Alcaraz dethrones Sinner to win second title, become world No 1

Carlos Alcaraz has won the 2025 US Open.

The Spaniard on Sunday, dethroned Jannik Sinner to clinch his second US Open title.

Alcaraz has also become new world No 1.

With President Donald Trump in attendance, the 24,000-capacity Arthur Ashe Stadium was only about two-thirds full, while thousands of fans still were standing on the plaza outside, waiting in line to enter as the final was pushed back by 30 minutes due to security checks.

When play eventually started it was Alcaraz who sealed his sixth Grand Slam title with a serving masterclass, winning 6-2 3-6 6-1 6-4.

Alcaraz has become the youngest male singles player in the Open Era to win multiple Majors on all three surfaces!

Only three others have done so (Mats Wilander, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic).
