Nigeria's Flamingos win fair play award at FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup

The Nigeria U-17 Women's team, the Flamingos, have honoured the nation by winning the Fair Play Award at the recently concluded 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

The Flamingos were honoured for their disciplined and sportsmanship behavior throughout the tournament despite their quarter-final exit, following a 2-0 defeat to the USA.

Nigeria's Shakirat Moshood and Celia Segura tied for the Bronze Boot award with four goals each, but the Spanish forward narrowly prevailed due to the assist (2-1).


Korea DPR winger Jon Il-chong  won Adidas Golden Ball winner at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Dominican Republic 2024.


The winger saw off the challenge of a pair of Spanish forwards as Pau Comendador picked up the Adidas Silver Ball and Celia Segura claimed the Adidas Bronze Ball.
