Zamfara State Govt threatens to demolish communities harbouring bandits

The Zamfara State Government has threatened to demolish communities harbouring bandits.

The Deputy Governor of the State, Malam Mani Mummuni, disclosed this when he visited Tsafe Emirate to console the community over the killing of nine members of the Zamfara State local security outfit, Community Protection Guards, CPG by bandits.

It was reported that bandits ambushed the security operatives along the Tsafe-Funtua road, k!lling nine of them.

Mummuni specifically accused residents of the Maikwanugga community of harbouring bandits by providing shelter and foodstuffs.

According to him, the village allowed the bandits to spend the night before launching the deadly attack on the CPG operatives who were deployed to protect travellers.

"The village is just less than half a kilometre from the main road, but they decided to be used by bandits against our security operatives, who are working to secure the lives and properties of innocent people,” he said.

Mummuni noted that the government would not tolerate the actions of betrayers working against the State’s efforts and those of security agencies in curbing insecurity.
