Princess Beatrice gets engaged to property tycoon, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

Princess Beatrice is engaged and is set to wed next year, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The Queen's granddaughter is engaged to Italian property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 34. They started dating in October last year though they have known each other for years and Beatrice even attended the funeral of Edoardo's stepfather, Christopher Shale, in 2011
Edoardo is a father-of-one, it has been revealed. He has a son from a previous relationship. His father is Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi.

Princess Beatrice's sister Princess Eugenie released a photograph of the happy couple on Instagram and wrote: " Beabea - wow! I'm so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It's been a long time coming and you two are meant to be."

Mozzi is also a friend of Princess Eugenie and he attended her wedding last October.
Mozzi made his first official public appearance with Beatrice in March at the National Portrait Gallery gala, where they were joined by the Duchess of Cambridge. They have been spotted together several times since then.

Edoardo Mozzi is Beatrice's first public boyfriend since she split from Uber executive Dave Clark in 2016 after 10 years together.

Below is a statement from Buckingham Palace announcing their engagement.
