Lagos Road to Close for 35 Days as Repair Work Begins October 19

The Lagos State Government will rehabilitate Ozumba Mbadiwe Road for 35 days, starting Monday, October 19, 2026.

The work covers the stretch from Adetokunbo Ademola Street/Civic Centre to Samuel Manuwa Street/BJ.

Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi issued a traffic advisory on Thursday, October 15.

A contraflow will be set up on the Lagos bound side, from Samuel Manuwa to Adetokunbo Ademola Street, while work goes on in the other lane.

The advisory gives alternative routes for drivers coming from Bonny Camp, Falomo, Eko Hotel and nearby areas.

Drivers heading from Bonny Camp or Falomo to Civic Centre and Lekki are told to use Adeyemo Alakija Street, Adeola Hopewell Street, Akinbo Savage Street and Bishop Aboyade Cole Street, then join the expressway at School Corner near Black Diamond.

Drivers from Falomo heading to Akin Adesola Street are directed through IMB and the Coastal Road entrance.

Those leaving Bonny Camp can use Ahmadu Bello Way to reach Eko Hotel roundabout. Drivers moving from Eko Hotel to Civic Centre will be diverted through Bishop Aboyade Cole Street and School Corner.

Those heading to Falomo or Ikoyi should use Sanusi Fafunwa Street to connect to Akin Adesola Street.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will deploy officers to manage traffic and reduce congestion.

Motorists are asked to plan ahead, follow traffic officials and cooperate with the arrangements.
