Police seal suspected fake wine factory in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have uncovered and sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly used to produce and package adulterated alcoholic drinks in the Yafin area of Badagry, Lagos State.

The operation also led to the arrest of a 48-year-old man identified as Anaebo Hilary, who was found at the premises.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abimbola Adebisi, who confirmed the development, said the operation followed credible intelligence provided by members of the public.

According to her, operatives recovered adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, different wine labels and various production utensils suspected to have been used in producing and packaging the drinks.

She said the factory was subsequently sealed, while the suspect was taken into police custody for further investigation.
