Nigerian-born Ugo Ugochukwu wins FIA Formula 3 in Melbourne

Nigerian-born racing talent Ugo Ugochukwu delivered a stunning performance in the early hours of Sunday, clinching victory in the FIA Formula 3 Championship race held in Melbourne, Australia.

The young driver impressed spectators at the renowned Albert Park Circuit, powering his way to the top spot and reinforcing his growing reputation as one of the brightest prospects in global motorsport.

Ugochukwu was born and raised in New York City to Nigerian supermodel Oluchi Onweagba and an Italian father. Although he grew up in the United States, he maintains strong ties to Nigeria and continues to draw attention from the country’s sports followers.

Prior to stepping into Formula 3, he had already made a name for himself in junior racing categories.

He previously finished third in the British F4 Championship with Carlin and later secured second place in the 2023 Italian F4 Championship while competing for Prema Racing.

As part of his development through the motorsport ladder, the youngster also raced in the Formula Regional European Championship.
