The announcement was made by Enugu Governor Peter Mbah, chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC) ad-hoc Committee tasked with overhauling security training institutions, during an inspection of facilities in Lagos.
Governor Mbah, accompanied by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Inspector General of Police Alkali Usman Baba, and AIG Olatunji Disu, revealed that the committee has been given 30 days to submit a comprehensive report to NEC for action.
Mbah explained that President Tinubu was deeply concerned about the outdated infrastructure used to train security personnel, stressing that such conditions do not align with the expectation that officers uphold human dignity.
The President reportedly highlighted the urgent need for modernization, linking the quality of security training to his vision of growing Nigeria’s economy to a trillion dollars within the next five years.
Further details are awaited.
