Osimhen shortlisted for 2025 CAF men’s player of the year award

Victor Osimhen has once again been recognized among Africa’s elite after being shortlisted for the 2025 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the 10-man shortlist on October 22, 2025, featuring some of the continent’s biggest stars.

Osimhen, who won the award in 2023, will be aiming to reclaim the crown following another strong year for both club and country.

Other nominees include Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and Senegal’s Pape Matar Sarr, among others.

According to CAF, the 2025 award will consider players’ performances between January 6 and October 15, 2025.

Osimhen’s nomination continues his consistent presence among Africa’s best footballers, cementing his reputation as one of the continent’s most influential and high-performing strikers.
