Mohamed Salah WINS FWA Footballer of the Year award

Mohamed Salah is determined to create history as Liverpool’s main man insisted he has never been happier during eight years at Anfield.

The Egypt international was crowned Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers Association for the third time for the outstanding role he played in helping Liverpool win the Premier League.

Salah needs two goal involvements in Liverpool’s final home game against Crystal Palace to set a Premier League record.
He already has the best tally for a 38-game campaign but he can surpass the tally of 47, which is currently held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.

They posted their remarkable figures in a 42-game season – Cole got to that tally in 1993-94 and Shearer emulated him 12 months later when he led Blackburn Rovers to the title.

Few would bet against Salah getting the numbers he needs on the afternoon Liverpool will receive the trophy.
But, at the back of his mind, he is already looking to the future and possibly outstripping Thierry Henry, the only other to win the FWA award three times.
