I want to lead the world in Afrobeats – Ayra Starr

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has said she wants to be one of the world leading artists via Afrobeats.

She simply wants to be one of the leading Afrobeats artists in the world.

The 21-year-old also said afrobeats is not getting its much desired hype.

Speaking with Cosmopolitan UK, she said, “My hope for Afrobeats is for it to be the biggest genre in the world. Because it deserves to be.

“Other genres of music are great, but there’s nothing like Afrobeat. Even the sad music makes you feel good. So, I want Afrobeats to be the biggest genre in the world and I would love to be one of the leading artists.”

She also disclosed she loves fellow artists like Rihanna, Drake, Burna Boy, Beyoncé, Victoria Monét, Rema, Miley Cyrus, Kendrick Lamar, and Tyler The Creator.
