Cardi B cleared in mic-throwing battery investigation

Cardi B has been cleared legally in Las Vegas after an investigation of an incident in which she fired a microphone into the crowd during a performance at Drai’s Beachclub last Saturday.

A battery probe into the singer, 30, in connection with the occurrence has been finished, and she will not face any charges, her legal team told TMZ on Thursday.

‘This afternoon we were notified by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept., that as a result of their investigation, there will be NO charges against Cardi,’ a trio of lawyers for the pop star – Drew Findling, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld – told TMZ in a statement.

They continued: ‘On behalf of Cardi, we appreciate the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept’s diligent and prompt resolution of this matter.’

In the incident, Cardi B asked for someone to splash water on her amid triple degree temperatures on the outdoor performance in Sin City, but a concertgoer hoisted a cup of liquid and ice at her, leading her to throw the mic into the audience.

The WAP hitmaker was seen hurling the microphone from the stage after getting splashed by a drink thrown by a fan, in a video shared to Pop Base Twitter on Saturday.

The person who was struck by the mic filed a report with authorities in the wake of the incident.
