2023 WWC: BBNaija Host, Ebuka Praises Super Falcons Player After Defeat to England

Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, reality show host, Ebuka Obi Uchendu has praised one particular Super Falcons player. 

 He hailed defender Ashleigh Plumptre for her outstanding performance even though Nigeria lost via penalty shootout to England at the ongoing 2023 FIFA World Cup. 

 Obi Uchendu said Plumptre should take a bow for her impressive display for Nigeria against England in the Round of 16 clash.

 In a tweet via his Twitter handle, Obi Uchendu tweeted,“Take a bow Ashleigh Plumptre [100%].”

Recall that Plumptre was impressive for Super Falcons as her shot hit the crossbar during the encounter. 

 The match ended in a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes. England eventually won via a penalty shootout after both Desire Oparanozie and Michelle Alozie missed their spot-kicks during the shootout. 

 Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki have both praised the Super Falcons.

  Reacting, Atiku, in a tweet, said he had no regret skipping his breakfast to watch the Round of 16 clash between Nigeria and England. He also insisted that the Super Falcons have every reason to hold their head high. 

 Atiku tweeted, “We may have lost to England in a penalty shootout, but the @NGSuper_Falcons have every reason to hold their heads high. I still have no regrets about skipping my breakfast for this game. #ENGNGR #FIFAWWC –AA.”

Also reacting, former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki tweeted: “Despite the heartbreak of the penalty shootout, I am proud of the Super Falcons for their incredible journey in the #FIFAWWC. And you, @NGSuper_Falcons, should be proud of what you have achieved. #ENGNGA.”
