He was on Friday held for questioning along with his son as part of a probe into alleged discrimination, the Nice prosecutor told AFP on Friday.
This follows an investigation launched in April, following claims that Galtier made racist and Islamophobic comments about players when he coached Nice in the 2021/2022 campaign.
The prosecutor said they would provide more information on Galtier’s arrest and his son via a statement later on Friday.
Meanwhile, PSG are yet to speak on the latest issue on Galtier, who is set to be fired by the Qatari owners of the club.
Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has been linked to PSG to replace Galtier.
