Suspected political thugs set buildings and cars ablaze in Osun village

Five buildings have been set ablaze by suspected political thuga in Igangan, a village in the Atakumosa East Local Government Area of Osun State.

The thugs also burnt a car belonging to a man identified as Folorunsho Aderibigbe, a indigene of Iwara town.

According to some residents of Igangan, the thugs attacked the community around 8 pm on Sunday and set some buildings on fire.

“We were too scared to come out when the attackers came. We watched from where we hid as the arsonists set fire to buildings,”

On February 14, an 11-year-old girl, Rukayat Balogun, was shot in the leg by suspected political thugs in Iwara.

The senatorial candidates of the All Progressives Congress and that of Peoples Democratic Party, Ajibola Famurewa and

The commissioner of police in the state, Abiodun Ige, assured that the police would beef up security in the affected areas.

He said, “Perpetrators of these crimes will be brought to justice. People should stop violence because anyone caught will be dealt with in accordance with the law.”
