Don’t be afraid of violence, go out and vote – Buhari tells Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to not be afraid of violence as they prepare to cast their votes in the coming general elections which commences tomorrow.

President Buhari is contested for re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. His main challenger is former vice president Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Assuring Nigerians that his order against ballot box snatching isn’t a threat on Nigerians, Buhari said:

“Do not be afraid of rumours of violence and unrest.

“Our security agencies have worked diligently to ensure that adequate security measures are in place.

“As your President, I hereby ask all Nigerians with voting cards to participate in defining the future of our nation by exercising your democratic rights tomorrow. I urge you to go out and vote,” the president said.

Meanwhile, the APC have said that Buhari will congratulate whoever emerges winner if he is defeated at the poll.
