It’s a traffic violation to break siren blaring security convoy – Police ACP

An Assistant Commissioner of Police Aboyomi Shogunle has said it’s a traffic violation to break into a siren blaring security convoy.




According to him, a criminal proceeding may be initiated against the offender as the Police officer may see the breakage as a threat and may be forced to respond with force.

He made this known to the public using his official and verified Twitter handle. His handle is @YomiShogunle.

He wrote;

⚠️ It’s a traffic violation to break into a siren blaring security convoy on our roads, a criminal proceeding may be initiated against you.
Deliberate breaking into such convoy is a perceived THREAT and officers wil respond appropriately.
Police too have the right to be alive.

This is coming just days after a video of some armed police officers circulated across the social media. In the video, the Mobile Police officers, purportedly escorting a Central Bank Van, could be seen wreaking havoc on a commuter’s car after he made attempt to break into their convoy.
