Truck crushes pregnant woman to death in Ogun

A pregnant woman and six other persons were crushed to death in a fatal accident that occured at Mechanic village along OGTV/Ajebo road in Abeokuta, Ogun state last night. According to eyewitnesses, the accident involved a white Volvo truck and a red Nissan blue bird.



According to the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in Ogun state, Clement Oladele, the truck with registration number: KJA 731 XP had brake failure and lost control which led to a head-on collision with the blue bird car with registration number: ED 638 EKY, coming from opposite direction.

Nine persons including seven males, a pregnant woman and one child were involved in the accident. The pregnant woman, the child and five males died in the accident. The remains of the deceased persons has been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, mortuary while the injured ones are being treated at the same hospital. The driver of the truck who caused the accident fled the scene after the incident.
