According to court documents filed on Tuesday, Blige cited irreconcilable differences as grounds for divorce and asked to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support to Isaacs.
A date of separation is still "to be determined," according to the documents, which were first obtained by TMZ.
While the couple have no children together, Blige, 45, has been a stepmother to Kendu's children - Briana, Jordan and Nas, from a former relationship since they got married in 2003.
