France Passes Law Making Paying For Sex A Crime

The estimated 40,00 commercial sex workers in France will have to start considering an alternative line of work.
The French Parliament passed into law a controversial piece of legislation which has criminalized paying for sexual acts.




Under France’s new, anyone caught purchasing an act from a sex worker will be fined up to €1,500 and required to attend classes on the harms of prostitution.
Prostitution itself is legal in France but now the activities surrounding commercial sex are now crimes.
