The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday re-arraigned the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Ibrahim Abdulsalam and others over alleged stealing.
Abdulsalam is charged along six others for alleged stealing and conversion of the agency’s money amounting to N6.8 billion.
The other accused persons are Adegorite Olumuyiwa, Agbolade Segun, Clara Aliche, Joy Adegorite, and two limited liability companies, Randville Investment Limited and Multeng Travels and Tours Limited.
The EFCC had earlier on April 7, 2016 arraigned the NAMA boss, three directors of the agency and the wife of one of the directors.
They had pleaded not guilty to the charge, while the trial judge, Justice Babs Kuewumi, had adjourned for hearing of their bail application.
The prosecutor, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, yesterday informed the court of an amended charge, including the names of two more accused persons. He re-read the charges to the accused. All accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Those included in the amended charge are Bola Akinribido and Sesebor Abiodun.
After their plea, counsel to the first accused, Mr. Olawale Akoni (SAN), moved an application for bail of the accused, urging the court to admit the accused to bail on liberal terms.
Ruling on the bail application, Justice Kuewumi granted all accused persons bail in the sum of N20 million each with one surety in like sum.
He added that the sureties must have landed property within the jurisdiction of the court, which must be verified by the court’s registry and prosecution.
The judge, however ordered that the accused persons be remanded in prison custody pending perfection of their bail condition and adjourned the case till April 27 and April 28 for mention
