Mother Teresa will finally be named a saint of the Catholic Church.
The extraordinarily fast tracked process for her Sainthood began in 2002 when Pope John Paul II waived the five year waiting period for her canonization.
Her first miracle was confirmed to be the healing of Monica Besra, an Indian woman.
Pope Francis disclosed today that Mother Teresa will be named a Saint on September 4 and his announcement comes after early confirmation had come in December 2015.
Mother Teresa was an Albanian nurse whose work in helping the poor earned her a Nobel Prize and died in 1997 at the age of 87.
