A Federal High Court in Abuja today granted former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, N2bn bail over financial fraud charges.
Justice Okon Abang ruled that the bail bond would be met by two sureties in the sum of N1 billion each.
Badeh was on Monday arraigned on a 10-counts charge of criminal breach of trust and corruption valued at N3.9 billion.
The judge said the sureties must be resident in Abuja and must be property owners with requisite Certificates-of-Occupancy.
The judge ordered the sureties to deposit evidence of tax clearance for three years, recent passport photographs, while Badeh is to deposit his international passport with the court chief registrar.
Badeh’s trial commences on March 14.
